They are the same leds, It may just need different firmware or some kind of addon to the original viking chip. This would also take a fair amount more coding, but it would be pretty cool. I just want someone more technically advanced to answer if it would be possible.

Just wondering if you could put the leds from the controller into the chat pad, so it could change led colors too. Im not sure if this is even possible because you would most likely have to put another circuit board into the chatpad and download the firmware to the chat pad and the controller...
