My wife has the 1st generation kindle. I bought her the new DX kindle for christmas. They are pretty cool. I might get one for myself after I see how she likes the new one. I guess you can read magazines and stuff with it too.

I have the latest version and LOVE IT! The Amazon lighted leather case is a must if you like to read before you go to bed.

My first read on it was Stephen Kings "UR". Its a short story about the Kindle, pretty cool and only about $3.

I have it on my droid, laptop, ipod, etc... but i really wanted the eink screen for comfortable reading no glare no eyestrain
