different types of controlers

I bought the diy chip and I have a different controller than the one that is in the tut. I bought it about 4 months ago so I'm guessing its a newer board. is there another tut out there or do i need to get an older controller.

The chip only works on the CG(Common Ground) board. Right now the Matrix Controller which you have is unsupported. So you need to make sure you get a CG controller. Here is a pic that might help in determining what controller you are getting. Pay attention to TP19 on right of old controller board and C15 on left of new controller board. Also I bought a new controller last week at Radio Shack and got an old matrix board :|

yea to ensure new style controller take and always buy a play and charge kit.
