My First Day With The Macro

Ok so I got it home from the Post Office and unboxed it eager to get it online. The build quality is very good to excellent on the controller overall. My only flaws were a few tiny scuffs probably from Microsoft and the stock sticks were very sloppy and loose. The switches look like factory they are so cleanly installed. The software is something I'm working on but still using pre made Macro's for now. Very easy to set up and activate all the functions. It was like my beloved Raven never existed this felt so smooth with the rapidfire. I played Black Ops a few hours and noticed a lot of flex from the bottom right side and a large gap so I checked it out. The very bottom screw on the right side was stripped and loose in it's home. I removed the others and eventually it came out with the shell. I decided to change the sticks since it was apart and what a huge difference they make. I had to resort to wrapping a piece of tape around the screw to get it to bite the stripped plastic. My only gripe was the stripped screw on a $ 215.00 controller,If it does not hold I am not very keen on buying a replacement. Having just received this today I am not sure about returning it how that works?

Can't make a support ticket

I purchased my controller direct from Einar and I don't think my e-mail is in the system. I have tried resetting but never receive anything. I just received my Macro today and it has a stripped screw in the upper casing. I wasn't going to worry about it but I am having second thoughts.

You'll have to ask Einar if he'll still fix it since you tampered with it...

Re: Can't make a support ticket

PM'ing now. To get him setup with a support account. (He had asked to pay us directly, since he was a former Odin's Raven customer, we agreed to let him pay us directly, which means he bypassed the cart system, which means we just have to manually setup his account).

No... that's why we put the tamper sticker there. Tamper stick tampered with = warranty voided :-(. The good news I don't think he did anything, he ordered FPS freeks.

FAQs:

Do the controllers come with a warranty?
Our 90-day warranty covers defects in our modchip, modchip installation, as well as manufacturer defects in the controller itself. Our warranty is void if the warranty sticker inside the battery pack cover is tampered with in any way, such as to add other after market modifications. Our warranty is void in the event of abuse or misuse (soda spills, foreign material inside the controller, banging the controller on hard surfaces, etc).

Also, the holographic sticker inside the battery pack cover, which covers one of the 7 screws needed to open the shell, says "Warranty void if removed" on it. One would have had to break this sticker in order to remove the last screw and open the controller.

We don't have a 'no tamper' policy because we are trying to be jerks, we have this policy in place because the mod is complicated and delicate - a good majority of the customers who try to open these controllers to add third party equipment end up damaging the mod in some manner or another. If we did not have a 'no tamper' policy, we would lose money as we would spend most of our time trying to repair mods that were broken by customers installing third party equipment. :(

[Side note, the reason we don't offer most third party equipment is because most third party equipment is junk and we can't warranty it. We tried (in the example of offering PS3 sticks) not only did the PS3 sticks not work properly and interfere with proper thumbstick down-pressing, but we actually had several controllers come back with completely shredded thumbsticks because the rubber just didn't hold up like the stock thumbstick. Same goes for XCM custom light-up shells, they are junk and usually the left/right bumpers on an XCM shell feel 'mushy' after install.]
