Is this the one we were talking about in PM matt, because it's the one I was asking about, but it sounded like you had something else...

this is ps3 instafire, legalities prevent me from saying much more other than it belongs to BGR mods. I can give you the specs, and I wil be doing an install tut soon. it is based on a "clip on" system, there as it clips onto the existing IC of the controller itself, no soldering posible. the pins are so close together it would be imposible to solder it. this chip takes full control of the buttons at the source microcontroller, no more forced/floating pins. I cant get into exact details, but this chip is (in design) supperior to anything ever done with xbox. Most of you wont understand what I mean unless you have a strong electronic/programming background...(I am not dissing viking) this design should change the way modding is conducted, atleast on the ps3 side for now.

it dont touch any pads, wires, or traces, it sits on top of the main chip, between the chip and the battery.

It clips onto one of the large, square black chips with about 30 legs.

Yeah that large square black chip you speak of, is a QFP IC, and its the brains of the controller....... Also the one on the PS3 controllers looks like it has 88 pins on it......

haha do you really reflex. as do I provide his initials. either one, pick one. one guy wrote programing, one guy developed the hardware, then it went to proto and testing, then the whole project was sold. I am a Admin on another site, that may or may not be affiliated with instafire. just provide the initials so I can verify if you are full of it or not.

That many? I made a random guess... I just know it's quite a few, when I think about it it should be a fair bit more than 30 though, because there are definatly more than 8 per side... M1A1 if you actually talk to the guy, let me know what he says, and ask him about akimbo and fast reloads becoming a possibility.
