Dude. At 18 such a short life. I feel sorry for him and all the people close to him like his friends and family. Its sickening to me that someone would do that. I hope he rots in jail then hell forever. I feel bad just thinking about Fred Drew. It does seem good that the schools are having counselors. since he was one of your good friends I would encourage going to the counselor of your school. They are always there to help.
Good luck, and very sorry for your loss. No teenager or his friends should have to go through something like this.

Thumbs up to the death sentence. I don't think you should have to be 18, either, to be given a lethal injection. At age 16, you are definitely old enough to know better. My parents taught me never to point a gun at another human being when I was about 6 years old.

Amen, I hope he gets convicted and rots. He killed my friend and where I come from you treat your friends as you would treat family.

I am sorry this happened man its sad to see kids pull out guns on eachother. They don't recognize the value of life until they spend it in prison for taking someone else's life. Wish you the best of luck with dealing with it and I hope that the law does its job in dealing with the shooter.

That's terrible... We had a girl from our school die at the end of last year, right in the middle of exams... You never realise how much you'd miss them until they're gone. My sympathies to you and the rest of your community.

I am so sick of this ignorant thug mentality where people think its cool to pull a gun to win a fight... It is even getting bad here in WV to the point that I just went through the NRA handgun course earlier this year to get my paperwork. It's pretty bad when I almost feel required to carry my Glock when I leave home because of morons like this guy. I know how hard it is to lose a friend... nobody should have to deal with that but in the end it teaches you the value of life. It's part of growing up.

Right on the money. The official story came in from my other good friend, he was in the same house actually just a room over. Deandre (shooter) hit Fred (R.I.P. Friend) and Fred uppercut Deandre and knocked him flat out. Deandre got back up left the party and came back like an hour later (I'm guessing that's when he got the gun) got in Fred's face and Fred said "Listen I knocked you out once and i'll do it again" Deandre shoved him a little and pulled the gun. Two shots to the stomach and once Fred dropped Deandre walked to him and put one in his chest after he had fallen. He lived three hours after the ambulance got to him. He died a total of four times. Twice on the way to the hospital, once in the hospital, then he went for good R.I.P. He didn't even get to see his mom and dad before he died. If Deandre doesn't get life or at least rot in prison for most of it, then there are hundreds of people who will want to get at him, including me. So if he dodges the slammer then he is going to have a target on his back.

R.I.P. Fred Drew Forever missed Never forgotten buddy!

Sorry for your loss man, I know how you feel. A good friend of mine was killed my sophmore year of high school. I didn't see her get shot, but rather hit by a car going 70mph in the middle of the city. It was probably the worst week/month/year of my life.
Make sure that no matter what though, you don't end up blaming yourself, or wondering if there was something you could have done to prevent it, or focus too much on hindsight. I did that a lot myself, and it made things a lot worse than they should have been. Be sure to talk to somebody about it, be open with what you're feeling and don't be afraid to talk about anything. There's nothing wrong about seeing a counselor, that's what their there for. Now isn't a time to be the "tough guy" and bottle up what you're feeling. Even if you don't publicly do it, just make sure that you talk to somebody, be it a counselor, or another close friend, or even your family. Just make sure that you don't try to suppress everything. It's one of the worst things you can do.

Best of luck to you, I sincerely hope things get better.

Thanks man, counselors came to my school and talked with some of us. Once again thanks for the concern and the advice.

Oddly enough I just got a message on facebook that a guy I knew passed on the 3rd. He was in his 20s and ended up getting germ cell cancer and was dealing with treatment for it... something went wrong and his health failed inside a day... crazy. I used to play paintball with this guy a few years ago.
