Hello,

I have tried to order a controller through your site and keep getting " decline AVS error address mismatch billing address" well I know the address I entered is the same on my card and just to make sure I copied and pasted the address from the bank info. I was able to get in contact with a Einar and after a few email exchanges it boiled down this response

"Some sites may not have as stringent anti-fraud measures as our site. If our credit card processor can't make a match, there's nothing we can do. Sorry to lose a sale, and we wish you the best of luck in surfing for a good modded controller!

Regards,

Einar "

Well honestly I am not satisfied with this response. I as a person trying to be a customer who is filling out the information correctly on my end finds this annoying, when clearly the problem is part of the e-commerse solution your site is utilizing. As far as the stringent part goes mentioned to in the above response that just doesnt fly with me with since the card i trying to use is my primary card and i regularly use for online purchases with multiple other sites. Any real help in this matter would go a long way.

Thanks
Ben

Hello Ben,

If you really want this controller, your best bet is to visit a local pharmacy, grocery store, or walmart.

Buy a prepaid credit card, such as: visa, mastercard, amex.

Buy the credit card and purchase the viking with it. You won't have to then worry about any mismatch as you can choose the address on the card. I'd suggest a $200-$250 card.

Honestly in some ways that is a good idea but then i think i would be right back with the same problem since the billing address i would add to that card would be the exact one i using now. And the one i using now is exactly how my bank has if stored so there shouldnt be a mismatch yet i running into that exact problem.

Well as long as it isn't a PO box the prepaid card method has worked every time.

In waco, texas. I will try your idea of the card. I understand your companies need to protect against fraud but from a customers stand point shouldn't have to go out of the way to order a product. From doing a search there seems to multiple people who run into issues when trying to order and I commend you guys for trying to address those issues but the time spent seems like a waste when likely a better e-commerce system would fix those issues. The money invested would likely make things easier on everyone and the time saved would recoup the investment cost. just my 2cents.

You would think so, but you have no idea how many chargebacks / fraud attempts we had. This works better for us.

Authorize.net is the WORLD RECOGNIZED LEADER in on-line payment authentication. If authorize.net can't match the address, then 99.9% chance it's a stolen credit card. End of story.

And I'm here to tell you most of these 'customers' are not real customers. They are fraud artists. We paid $8,000 in chargebacks last year. Every time a customer gave us the "oh but I really want to buy and your site says my address is wrong but it's right please let me pay anyway", and every time we made an exception for these kinds of customers, we got screwed 2-3 months later when our bank hit us up with a fraudulent chargeback.

Typically these fraud artists are the same "customers" who come into the forums and make a big raucus about how they can't pay, how Viking360 is a terrible evil business, blah blah blah. Doing everything they can to try to guilt/force/shame us into accepting a credit card where the owner isn't shipping to the verified billing address.

How have we done since instituting a zero-exception policy? $0 in chargebacks. But the fraud artists still throw up a big raucus trying to get around authorize.net's simple fraud check. It's simple: we only ship to the verified billing address on the card.

If you truly are a legitimate customer, I really do apologize and wish we could have your sale. I'm here to make money, and making any exceptions to authorize.net's authorizations simply costs us money. We just won't do it, because it'd be the same as flushing my hard earned money down the toilet.
