Spam!

I just got done banning 10 users and deleting 100+ posts!

At any rate I just turned off the spam filter and re-enabled it, and am trying to get the forums as spam-free as possible now. Hopefully the new spam filter will stop all of the bots...

I'm going to change the thing so that new registered users have to go through Admin approval before they can post.

Nice idea and ive seen about 18 posts of the same guy spamming the forums just with random letters

ya im trying to help you out as much as i can with all the spamming but i dont no how much help it really does to report a post haha but if it helps ill keeping doing it

The spam will end now as I have to approve all new members now. I can spot a spambot and refuse to accept them to be able to post.

Don't worry about reporting, I get the spam deleted and with vbulletin it is very easy.

ok i just like to help out when i can haha some people need help but i usually cant help them since alot of them have to deal with tyrs hand and ive never owned one of them

Out of about 10 registers, 4 are legit users and 6 are spambots. Spambots need to just stop registering as I do not approve them.

Dang thats incredible how stupid they do need to stop it hasnt seem to be getting bad till lately but i wasnt as active on the forums a while back

We've had spam in "waves."

Basically a period of a few days of 100s of spambots, then they go away. Hopefully they do, but no worries as they can't get through anymore.

Manually-approved registration is the only way to (nearly) guarantee a spam free forums :-(
