USB error

Im sorry for bumping this old thread but im having the same issue with my brand new programmable ps3 controller. The message ''A USB Input device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port.'' appears when i plug the jack in the controller. Im using windows 7 and it is up to date.

Question, are you putting the controller into programming mode as in the tutorial video? It's not the same as the XBOX360 Ragnarok tutorial video.

Yes, the steps shown in the video are cristal clear. The error message appears exactly when I first plug the 3.5 jack in the controller (controller is off at this step). After that, I hold the mod button and press the ps3 button to turn on the controller but the pc sees nothing. I tried multiple usb port but the same thing happens.

Hi Kevin;

Can you try the other way around, put the controller into programming mode and then plug it in? If doing that still doesn't work, you might try opening a ticket at the helpdesk and get arranged to have the shop staff perform a diagnosis and see if there is a hardware issue that needs to be fixed :-(
