Viking Controller on PS3

I was curious if anyone has ran into this and what your thoughts were about this. I currently have a viking 360 controller and I am thinking about getting a PS3 also. I would like to be able to use the same controller for both.

XCM makes an adapter for the PS3 that will work with a wireless XBOX controller.

http://www.xcm.cc/
Cross Battle Adapter 2.2

It says that it requires the microsoft wireless PC adapter for it to work. Anyone ever used their controller on their PC? I would imagine if the macros work on PC than they would work with this setup. I am sure I would have to create my own macros for it.... just wanted some opinions...

Thanks

It is a possibility... not promising anything at all though.

I actually can't see it not working... The chip makes the controller output the macros along with all the other buttons you press, teh console can't tell the difference. I'd try it right now, but unfortunatly it would cost me something like $350-400... Can't really justify spending that much on a controller that might possibly not work... (Not the controller it's self, but the method of connecting to PS3)

Hang in there man I have PS3 written all over my business plans, unfortunately I am still working out the last bugs on the macro firmware 0.8.7.x beta testing, plus with the release of the matrix2 PCB by microsoft I have two customers who are relying on me to rewrite their modchip code for matrix2, so I need to finish that up. Then I will be ready to rock on a PS3 modchip. I figure we will release something like a Thor's Hammer on steroids. It will not have tac switches. It will allow you to choose which button you want to use for mode changing (d-pad, etc.). It will come with a modified version of the .hex editor. It will be way cheaper than the macro controller. It will not have RGB LED's.

From a consumer stand point and from previously owning a PS3.... I would so much rather use the xbox controller for both.

I prefer the layout of the xbox controller and absolutely love the macro based unit. I also want to have the tac switches so what you are working on maybe good for someone else but not a hit for me. Now if your looking into a simple adapter to make my current xbox controller work on a PS3 than I may hold off to give it a test run for you.

I am going to email them and see what the deal is because I can't seem to find it anywhere else.

Just heard back from XCM only one of the two sites have it listed already

Saw it on renchi for $99.99.... Given I have the PC adapter and the Vikining controller already.... Not bad!

"Hello

Well go for it then! I'm going to be waiting for the viking PS3, unless I win some cash somewhere lol. I only have PS3, so I don't have a viking right now. It would definatly be over $300 for everything, and considering I paid $250 for a PS3 a few months ago that's a bit much for me.
