Hello folks. Kristianz misunderstood my last communicade. I am working dilligently on the microcontroller end of the new software. I entered into a contract with a firm to build the Windows GUI side of the software. If I wrote the Windows side it would be amateur at best. My forte' is microcontroller/machine code. In any case, I'm focusing all of my energy on this 'build your own code GUI' - rather than writing a custom code here or there for every request that comes in, this software will allow all of my customers to start choosing their own setups using a Windows GUI tool. ETA is about mid march.
ETA WAS March 1st, but we've also been making some other changes at the business - we've finally hired two installers here to help us out, hopefully this is going to free up some time so I can complete the 'build your own code' tool (I haven't named it yet, will probably just call it Viking GUI). Hiring legitimate employees is a little bit of a trial and tribulation - we also needed to get an accountant and a bookkeeper to help us keep everything legit. In other words we're experiencing growing pains because we've gotten popular enough it's hard to keep up with the good customer service and custom codes that we are known for.
I saw this coming during the holiday rush and have been dreaming up this Viking GUI ever since. So the contract doesn't say I can't ever write Windows code
The contract is there just like our new hired installers, accountant and everyone else - they're there to help us out because my wife and I just can't run the business by ourselves any more.
So don't worry! And I'm sorry I don't have any more info on the Viking GUI, y'all here in the forums will be the first to know about it as soon as I have any beta code or a screenshot. The software contractors are anxious to move forward with the project. I will be contacting a few of the oldest and bestest Viking customers to perform some beta testing here in a couple of weeks.
