Im getting a new jasper to jtag, and its gonna be a jtag that i use for emulators and free isos :D . but i dont want it to overheat so i want a specially designed cooling case for it. Im looking at a lian li case but its discontinued everywhere. anyone know where to get one. or any other cooling suggestions for under 200?

Blackburn did this case but not with a jtag. you could ask him about it but he kinda disappeared. according to his profile he last visited May 28th, 2010, 3:58 pm, which is odd because he hasn't made a post in 1 month and 10 days. Very suspicious.

One of my friends in my electronics class did a cool setup on his Xbox to keep it cool. He used the same idea behind a computer case.

You know how most computer have the one fan on the side of the case, with the bigger fan on the back of it? The side fan is sucking in the air and blows out the back.

Well he, he cut the metal grill out on the back of the Xbox case, and also cut out the plastic part of it too.

Then he went and bought 2 cheap used computer fans, about the same size as the ones on the side of a computer tower. Then he cut out 2 square holes on the top of the Xbox case and mounted the fans on top of the Xbox, just make sure to setup the fans so that they are sucking air into the Xbox, and make sure you are using a very good grill for the fans!

yeah thats about the same setup i was gonna do on the lian li. it has 1 120mm fan in the back to push the air out but i was gonna put like 2 80mm fans right in front of the heatsinks to push air from the front to the back. let me see if i can find a picture of it here.

and to 40 oz. that was what i was gonna do if i didnt get a lian li, but the outer fans are not good because they move less air then the stock fans so it is just keeping all the hot air inside the xbox.

You could run freestyle dash and experiment with different cooling options to see what is effective. Freestyle has the option to adjust the fan speed, just change the temperature settings to farenheight. You could also run an extra 70mm fan internally and tap into the 12v power supply located under the power socket. You can bring the heat down effectively without changing the stock case. But the lian does look sweet :D
