Is my controller messed up?

Hi, I've had my controller for a while now, and i havent done anything to make it not work..

But I've been using Modern Warfare 2 preset, and when i go to the akimbo mode (mode 7) it works great. But when i turn it off (using LT and Sync) It still mimics, but only when i pull the trigger...

is that my controller or the preset?

When you turn it off, does it just turn off rapidfire, but not akimbo? Thats normal. The same thing is for sniper mode. Its what its designed to do. Provides for easy switching between pistols, which use rapidfire, from say g18s which you wouldnt want to have rapidfire
