Yup. The software is stupid. The mod hits the x and y buttons the correct number of times, but usually the game is too stupid to figure out what's going on.
Well, you can't really blame the game if you're mashing knife crouch switch weapons reload and shoot at the same time. You're bound to mess it up if you hit too much stuff at once.
