does anyone know how to transfer memory/profile from one xbox slim to another thanks

If the move is permanent - for example if you only need your profile on the second console - you can connect that console to the internet and use the "recover gamertag" feature.
If you need the profile on both consoles, yeah, you should be able to move your gamertag to a USB stick... then clone the USB stick and use it on both consoles.
I was going this up until about a month ago, my second stick got corrupted? (Or Maybe Microsoft nuked it) I was using two different USB sticks with copies of my profile so that we could get into xbox live at home and at the shop.
Maybe I made the mistake of logging into both at the same time and it nuked me. Who knows.
I do remember searching for some special software tools that might need to be used when working with XBOX data files and USB memory sticks.
