A little confused ...

I ordered my controller, I just want to know how do you sync it with the software, and how do you turn on the modes / change modes? Also does the controller come with the cord to connect it to the PC?

I got the Tyr's controller.

Tyrs hand you will sinc just like any other controller. It uses the play and charge cable to connect to your pc for custom programing. The play and charge cable can be bought at any store, and does not come included with the viking controller.

modes are changed by quick taps to the sinc button. see video.

Is it preset with rapid fire mods out of the box or do I need to sync it?

It should have a basic call of duty preset. so you programing is not a must. (only for the advanced features) you will have to sinc it to your xbox just like buying any new controller.
