Button Reassignment

I'm use to the button layout for mw3. I just got battlefield 3 and want to reassign some of the buttons but the option on all the buttons except additional buttons is greyed out. What am I missing?

This is for the macro controller right? You cannot reassign stock buttons to other stock buttons. Only stock buttons to tacs. However, you can make a macro that presses the b button for example and assign that to the a button. The problem then though is that when you press a it'll press a and b. If a doesn't do anything though then you are fine! Then assigning b to a has no adverse effects.

Yes it is macro controller. I could of swore I done this before but it has been so long I'm relearning everything.

You can put stock buttons onto the tactile switches... But not to other stock buttons because if you pressed it it would perform the action of the button you assigned to the stock button plus the one you put on there, so both buttons would be pushed.
