cant get controller to connect

Try connecting your controller to a different USB slot on your computer. Sometimes certain USB slots don't have enough power to recognize certain accessories.

And have you made sure that your controller is in programming mode? When you turn it on using the start button, it should flash white/pink/light blue lights.

Try using new batteries if none of these things are working for you. The controller needs a pretty good charge in order to be recognized by the computer.

I got an e-mail from Ed, I think his problem was trying to follow the Macro controller tutorial videos, but he's got a Thor's Hammer controller.... as we had just mailed him a 3.5mm-to-USB cable. Moved this post to the Legacy support forum.

if you mean upgrade the hardware, the only way to do that would be to buy another controller.

If you mean upgrade the software, the custom preset editor got an update last week that includes a black ops setting.

The new macro editing software isn't compatible with the controller you currently have. The reason for this is that the new controller has a completely new design and macro chip inside of it.

Yeah there is not a black ops driver already made in all those links at the bottom of the legacy drivers page, but we did update the legacy custom driver maker so it has black ops in it. It's hard to notice but actually in the first paragraph on the legacy drivers page is the link to the custom driver maker. It basically generates .hex files (just like the old drivers) that you can then flash into the controller just like the old pre-made drivers.
