Is there a way for me to tell if the firmware has been sucessfully updated? I watched the youtube video and i did it just like the video says except when i hit the reset button at the end, and i get a message that says unable to reset device then my controller just cuts off. The one in the video resets to one led light on. Am i doing something wrong or is that normal

The reset isn't a major part of the process just saves you whipping the battery pack out and turning the controller on again (I think anyways). As long as your controller is functioning how it should be you have the right firmware on there..

Im not resetting the controller first. Im loading the bin file then pressing program/verify. After it completes that successfully i press reset device just like the tutorial says and i get a message that says unable to reset the device.

If your macros work, I wouldn't worry about it. Did you start with macro software CLOSED and batteries REMOVED and programming cable DISCONNECTED?
