Headset compatibility

I am considering the Viking Macro Controller and would like to know if it is compatible with the various 3rd party wireless headsets out there. Specifically the Astro A30 headset.

Thanks in advance,

Takashi.

I don't own the Astro A30 headset, but I have used it with turtle beaches, tritton headset, etc.

Every headset I have used so far has worked on it.

I am very certain the Astro A30 headset will work. The viking360 controller works with all headsets.

I can say for sure, that it does, as I've used it with my friends A30's and even my other friends A40's as well. (as well as Turtle Beach x41's, Tritton AX pro, steelseries spectrum 5xb)

Thanks for the confirmation Wetter :)

Thank you for all the quick replies, I was a little concerned about the headset compatibility. Another modded controller I was considering stated that it didn't guarantee compatibility with 3rd party headsets. Looks like I might be pulling the trigger on one of these Viking Macro controllers (terrible pun intended).

Thanks again,

Takashi.

We don't officially support third party headsets. Have seen some Turtle Beach give the older legacy Viking some problems. I really don't believe it has anything to do with the Viking modchip so much as it has to do with that all the third party headsets draw more power from the mic port's voltage regulator than it was designed to give. If you do buy a Viking and your third party headset doesn't work I'd be happy to take a look at it in the shop but I have to have both the controller and headset. So far nobody has taken me up on an offer to mail in their $300 headset with their $200 controller :D .

Well, I've already placed my order for one of the controllers. If the headset doesn't work, the wifey could probably figure out why, but she might decide to audit the "disposable income" books afterwards. That scenario might go poorly for me.

Well he has had good results and so have I, so I assume it should work fine.
