I get no use from the Macro controller

I know it's a good controller but I have not used since I got it. I watched all the videos and still can't get these going

I have MW3 and I still haven't used it once on it. I think the tutorials are not clear enough and not very well detailed, because I follow everything to a T and still not getting anything out of it
