Looking for some help

I had a rooted htc evo 4g but my phone was shutting off randomly so I had to get a new one and now it comes stock with android 2.3.3 and I haven't found a root for it yet. I was wondering if anyone has any information about it, it would help my out greatly thanks in advance.

Probably need to find an SBF of earlier (Froyo) then SBF it, Z4 root, then custom rom it to gingerbread or so.

"despite what your are seeing on the internet, there is no way to root your gingerbread phone. some sites say that you can downgrade then root your phone. but that is not possible especially, if you have s-on still. there was news of the gingerbreak exploit a few months ago, but most phones that got updated had that exploit closed."

Thanks man fredrow was helping me the video I was watching wanted me to downgrade but it wasn't working so I'm going to wait idc
