macro controller help

hi there guys i have just started to experience some problems with my viking everytime i use it to play mw3 half way through a game it will just stop working lights will still be on, first i thought it was my batteries so i tryed new one still have same problem, also some time with new batteries the controller wont turn on/no lights but it will still connect to the xbox.

please help if you have experienced similar or same problems

it seems like it just shorts out like maybe the battries come lose or something but ive tried securing the batteries with tape but i still get the same problem
