Macros vs. speed setting

Hey guys,
I just logged in to see if there were any speed suggestions for black ops 2 semi auto weapons and I keep reading about Macros. What is the difference. Please advise.

Well if you have a xbox ragnarok id suggest using the speed setting 8.2 (dont know if its the same for PS3) for semi autos. The macros are a lot more complex. It runs off a timeline editor and basically without getting into super long detail about it u can dial more precise speed timings than all other controllers.
