no intrest in this? I for one would be crapping my pants and buying up all the cg2 controllers I could get. everyone hated the matrix platform.

It's going to depend on whether the viking macro chip could be compatible with it.

I'm not sure how the chip exactly connects to the controller, so if it's possible with the old matrix style controller, it might be possible with this new matrix 2.

However, if it's not compatible, I still feel like it's not going to be that big of a problem. There's probably hundreds of thousands of cg2 controllers out on the market right now. Viking only would need a couple thousand of them at max. There's a lot of stuff I'm not too sure about, but who knows. Maybe there will be a need to buy up a ton of cg2 controllers before they run out.

Saw this the other day on AM, the guys at the shop already know and are on the case.

The chip will not be compatible with this board, it won't even fit correctly let alone function..

well damn, that sucks.

Hopefully they can stock up on enough controllers then.

Like Ben said, there is no-way that the Macro board would fit onto this new style of controller....

Also, this controller could be used with the legacy chips, but would need a few transistors setup in the form of some logic gates....

If there was ever a way to get the Macro board connected to this style of 360-controller PCB, it would kick ass...... I'm pretty sure the response would be awesome, because the Matrix style boards are already straight digital.....

so can somone please explain.....i know the shape wont allow the macro controller board to fit....but other than that why cant the macro board work with the PCB? I always hear the Matrix board is inferior to CG and CG2...but why?

I think people always refereed to the inferior thing, in regards to adapting rapid-fire to the controllers. It was a little bit more work than the CG/2 PCBs....

My sentiments exactly. We have about 500 CG2 boards in stock. That means we may only sell another 500 macro controllers EVER. Which sucks because we have about 1200 modchips that will only work on a CG2 circuit board. Anyone want to buy some macro modchips?

Buy some CG2 boards fast!

Yeah we're waiting on a big order of controllers. Some start arriving as soon as this Friday. Will find out soon enough how many CG2 and how many Matrix2 we end up with.

I have finished reverse-engineering the Matrix2. More details later this weekend.

FYI, I started a sub-topic regarding a Macro v2.0 "reduced feature" controller that would be designed for the Matrix2 circuit board. viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3073
