Question concerning the new controllers:

Firstly are there any differences between the Viking/Black/White/Halo new controllers? Also when black ops comes out will I be able to update the macro's if I order the controller before the release date?

Edit: Also is it available with ps3 style thumbsticks?

-There is no difference between the controllers, other than their colour. You get to pick what colour controller you like best and it will do the same as the others.
-yes you can upgrade the macros on the chip, thus is probably the main reason why Viking controllers sell so well because you can plug it into your computer and up-date it with free lifetime updates. This means you never need to buy another controller or update
-if you request the ps3 thumbsticks you should be able to get them.

Unfortunately we discontinued the PS3 stick upgrade option. We purchased our PS3 sticks from llamma.com. Unfortunately they switched to a different manufacturer (or diffferent injection mould) for the sticks some time over the summer. The new sticks don't fit in the controllers properly, and cause problems when trying to click the joysticks (such as when you are pressing forward with the left stick, then click it, to make your game character sprint in Call of Duty).

I have had quite a few controllers returned for this issue so I just stuck a bit of plastic in the stick hole (not really the right way to go about it but hey), but this is not practical for you guys.

Yes we did something similar for controllers that came back with the stick problems, but it never seemed to work quite as good as the stock sticks did (or the old PS3 sticks for that matter). I kind of wish they would go back to the old manufacturer of the sticks.. about the only thing I could recommend are those FPS control freak sticks, plus you can pop them off/remove them any time you want.

Yeah, I need to try a pair of the freeks, I have only heard good things about them. I don't like the look of them though, prefer things to look flush & they look kind of odd on a controller.

That's the same reason I haven't bought a pair. But I've also heard nothing but good things.

Another off topic discussion on a completely different discussion FTW!
