Well that is up to you.....If you want a true sleeper then use the PNC option....if you do not care then install the jack....its all your preference
If you use Microsoft rechargeable packs and like to use the PnC cable to charge, then I would advise to add the 3.5mm jack option.
If you use your own AA rechargeables (like Kodak) in an external charger, then save your money and go with the PnC programming option.
