Thors hammer wont go in programming mode

i try to put my controller in programming mode, it has the call of duty 4 driver on it and when i turn it off the 4th player led stays on, even if i turn off with the sync button and trigger, it just switches to the next mode, and you cant run the button test code when it wont go in programming mode, anyone have any answers please comment or tell me.

Try removing the batteries and then hold the sync button down while inserting the batteries and then turn it on with the guide button whilst still holding the sync button down..

Let me know if it worked or not.
