So i had my controller updated to the newest firware. The one where you can beta test a poop I got a new computer and now my viking software isnt updated and i have been trying for over an hour to update it and it wont. Everytime it says succesful in the firmware updater but when i connect to the viking software its not updated. And now its not even reconized by my computer at all now. Please help!!!

Ok a lot of your statements don't make sense, but I won't bother with any of that.

Here is what to do.

Download this: http://viking360.com/downloads/thevikin ... _setup.exe

Install it.

Done. You have the new software. No need to do anything else.

To update the controller's firmware download these files:

http://viking360.com/downloads/thevikin ... .8.7.3.bin
http://www.viking360.com/downloads/thev ... dater2.exe

Close out of the viking software and open the firmwareupdater2. Then plug your controller in. Use a different USB port if it isn't working.
Update the controller with the newest firmware.

REMEMBER:

BE SURE TO BEGIN THE UPDATE PROCESS WITH THE MACRO SOFTWARE *CLOSED* AND THE BATTERIES *REMOVED* FROM YOUR CONTROLLER. Then follow this tutorial video EXACTLY: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5oVuclvuoM

Your controller should be updated.

The software should be updated.

There you go.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

If your controller continues to not be recognized by your computer, restart it.

Then take the batteries out of your controller. Make sure they are fresh - brand new.

Hold start on the controller - batteries out. Keep holding start - put in the batteries. You should get P1 and P4 LEDs in pink.

Attach the Play and Charge kit to controller. Open the software. Not firmware updater. Plug in the play and charge kit into cpu with controller connected. Wait 10 seconds. It should recognize your controller.

If not let me know.

no they didnt. im gonna try on a different computer and ill let you know in about 15mins

1.What isn't working? Is the controller connecting to the computer?

2.Have you tampered with the controller in any way at all...

Spilled soda on it, anything like that?

Just wondering.

The only thing you can try NYjets already mentioned and that's to hold the START button BEFORE you ever insert the batteries (and keep holding it down the hold time while you are holding the batteries in).

If you accidentally disconnect your controller during a certain part of the firmware upgrade it will brick your controller. No way to stop this. Firmware updating isn't a casual thing and that's why I do the beta testing here and not on the main software downloads page.

There's no easy way, you gotta open up a support ticket and arrange to have them fix it at the shop :-(
