I had something similar but it was the opposite eventually I just had to ship my controller in but I would try new AA batteries. I would also reflash your firmware onto your controller.
Be sure to try out with fresh batteries and start with the controller powered off. If the problem gets worse, open up a ticket with the support staff and they can repair or replace.
