i finally got the controller to work on my windows xp i had to reinstall all the .net framework becuase somthing was wrong with them i downloaded something called the .net fix and it did something and it works now

Thanks for posting back the results and sorry we weren't of more help, it sounded like "one of those deals with windows". Sometimes I wish we all owned Macs. Just last weekend I spent the entire weekend cleaning viruses and ultimately reformatting my entire system disk to get it clean.
