I would highly recommend you do not attempt to change the shell on your Viking. You should either contact Fredrow (if our in the US) or me (if your in Europe).
You'll be dealing with about 12 wires just to get the controller apart then you will need to reassemble the controller being careful...
Viking360 can quite easily justify the price of their controllers, they have spent $$$$'s on the development of the chip and especially the software..
... and the view count might just be a glitch in the forums?
I can't spray controllers, but If you can get hold of the custom shell I can re-fit it for you :)

The reset isn't a major part of the process just saves you whipping the battery pack out and turning the controller on again (I think anyways). As long as your controller is functioning how it should be you have the right firmware on there..
Saw this the other day on AM, the guys at the shop already know and are on the case.
The chip will not be compatible with this board, it won't even fit correctly let alone function..
