Dsoderhpinitro; I just helped another person who had this same problem, he emailed me telling me the same problems as you are having. So I made a quick checklist for him and I will post it here for you to do the same thing. The guy was able to get his controller working after he did these steps...

All you need is another LED driver and then some of the tri-state LEDs and you could pull this off.....

Yeah, that's right on; right thurr..... :lol: It's a pretty cool free PCB design program. Plus it's something cool to mess around with and learn on, my instructor said that it's just like EagleCAD and he has used many different PCB design programs and said that KiCAD is kind of a striped down...

Thank you all for the great and awesome responses towards the custom controllers I have done in the past. If it wasn't for Viking360 I probably would have never even attempted some of the crazy controllers I built in the past.

Just posting this for anyone that may be interested in learning how to do PCB design or if you just wanted to play around and see what goes into designing a PCB should check out KiCad. Just Google KiCad and it will bring you to the KiCad website and from there you can download the KiCad free...
